It observes the profound relationship between a person and the space they shape, and which, in turn, shapes them. An indirect portrait of the painter Rosarinho emerges, where her presence is revealed through attentive details, in the light that passes through, in the surfaces she has formed, and in the time that settles within them. The way we inhabit spaces inevitably reflects the way we inhabit ourselves. More than observing a house, we follow a process of discovery, the possibility of creating a sense of shelter wherever we may be.
This documentary, currently in post-production and still in the editing phase, marks the conclusion of my academic journey at the University of Beira Interior. The project was developed during the final semester of the course, with a production period that differed from previous projects, extending to eight shooting days, twice the usual duration. The experience gained through this film, even up to the production stage, has been particularly enriching, enjoyable, and distinct from the type of work I was previously accustomed to. As a documentary with a strong element of staging, it required careful consideration in the construction of each shot. Although the final version of the film is not yet available for viewing, I present a selection of stills from the project.
